Terms of service
Last updated: [date]
These terms govern your use of [service name] (the “Service”), operated by [legal entity name, registered address] (“we”, “us”). Institutes use the Service to run online, in-person and hybrid cohorts and to issue verifiable certificates. By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these terms.
1. Accounts
You need an account to learn, teach or administer an institute. Give accurate information, keep your sign-in methods secure and tell us promptly about any unauthorized use. You are responsible for activity under your account. You must be at least [minimum age, e.g. 16] years old, or have a parent or guardian's consent.
2. Institutes, instructors and learners
- An institute (organization) is responsible for its courses, cohorts, venues, members, the content it publishes and the certificates it issues, and for having the rights to that content.
- Instructors, evaluators and administrators act on the institute's behalf. Grades, attendance and certificate decisions are the institute's, not ours.
- Learners agree to the institute's own rules for a course or cohort, including attendance requirements and check-in rules for in-person sessions.
3. Payments, refunds and invoices
- Paid cohorts and courses are sold by the institute. Payments are processed by our payment partners (Razorpay for INR, Stripe for other currencies); we don't store card or UPI details.
- Prices are shown before you pay, including applicable taxes such as GST. A seat may be held for a short time while you check out; it is released if payment doesn't complete.
- Refunds follow the institute's refund policy: [refund window and conditions]. Refunds go back to the original payment method; tax invoices and credit notes are issued as required by law.
4. Certificates and verification
- Certificates are issued by the institute when its published rule is met (for example lessons completed, attendance, assessments), or by staff decision. Each certificate is digitally signed by the institute.
- Every certificate has a public verification page that anyone with its link or ID can open. It shows the holder's name, the course or cohort, the institute, dates and its status (valid, expired or revoked).
- The institute may revoke or reissue a certificate, for example after an error or misconduct; verification then shows the current status. Altering a certificate or presenting someone else's as your own is prohibited.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- check in for someone else, share check-in codes, or otherwise falsify attendance;
- cheat on assessments, or submit work that isn't yours where the institute forbids it;
- upload unlawful, infringing or harmful content, or malware;
- probe, scrape, overload or bypass the security or rate limits of the Service;
- use the Service to send spam or to harass anyone.
6. Your content
You keep the rights to content you upload (submissions, course material, templates). You give us a limited licence to host, process and display it only to operate the Service for you and your institute. Institutes give their learners access to course content for the duration set by the institute.
7. Availability and changes
We work to keep the Service available but don't guarantee it will be uninterrupted. We may change or discontinue features with reasonable notice where practical. We may update these terms; material changes will be announced [how, e.g. by email or in-app notice, N days in advance].
8. Suspension and termination
You can stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms or the law. Issued certificates remain verifiable after an account closes unless the institute revokes them.
9. Disclaimers and liability
The Service is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability is limited to [cap, e.g. fees paid in the last 12 months]. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
10. Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of [jurisdiction], and disputes go to the courts of [city]. Questions: [contact email]. See also our privacy policy.
